The Lady Rams Bowling team came out of the gates strong on Saturday at the Mona Shores Invitational with an 860 team game led by a fine 234 game from Junior Sofia DeLuccia. They slumped a bit in game two with a 794 but came back strong in game three shooting a 909 game with DeLuccia again highlighting things with a 256 game. In the Baker game section the girls rolled solid score to total 696 for the four games and take the top seed in the tournament going into match play. After getting a first round bye, they faced off against Grand Haven in the semi-finals. Losing game one by a pin hurt but they came back strong in game two to event the match and take it to a third game. It was neck and neck until a couple of splits in the seventh and eighth frames and that proved to be the difference and the girls had to settle for a third place finish. Top performances from the event came from DeLuccia who shot 661 for her three game totals, Sophomore Kristen Chapman, while nursing a knee injury, chipped in a 551 series and her sister Kyla Chapman contributed a 198 game and a 499 series. All three girls were awarded All Tournament Team honors for their efforts. Now it is a break until after the first of the year when we kick off our conference schedule and try to defend our two-time conference championship.
