The Rockford Ladies Bowling team was eagerly awaiting their chance to avenge their only conference loss of the year against conference leader Grand Haven. There was high energy and a lot of noise for this event for sure. They started out quickly with their highest Baker game of the year shooting 212 and followed that up with another great 196 to shoot 408 and take a 10-0 lead going into the team games. That energy and confidence continued right into the team games as they shot 872 and 937 to win 18 of the possible 20 points and take the meet 28-2. Strong performances again from Junior Kyla Chapman scoring 258 and 217 to lead the team. Junior Sofia DeLuccia chipped in 183 and 202 and Sophomore Kristen Chapman, still nursing a bad knee, contributed 180 and 202. Alyx Niedermayer also had a 168 and Catherine Hill chipped in game two with a 148 as well. With the win, the ladies now take the conference lead with three matches left in the season before the post conference tournament. This was a must win and they pulled it off in great fashion. Next up is the Rockford Ram Invitational this coming Saturday at Rockford Lanes. Eight schools will be vying for the top spot in the event including both of the Rockford ladies teams.
