ROCKFORD ATHLETICS I HOME OF THE RAMS

The first meet of Rockford Powerlifting's inaugural season took place February 7th at Dexter High School. Junior Varsity boys, which consisted of our freshman and sophomore lifters, took an impressive third place out of over 20 schools that competed. Three of our lifters medaled, which included sophomore Nathan Sias taking 1st place in the 155 weight class, freshman Eli Dubay taking 3rd place in the 165 weight class, and freshman Travis Perrigo taking 2nd place in the 242 weight class. All that attended and competed had very strong lifts, and three of our JV boys qualified for the state meet later this month, including sophomore Liam Powell in the 145 weight class, Nathan Sias in the 155 weight class, and Eli Dubay in the 165 weight class. The JV state meet is February 28th at Oxford High School. On the Varsity side, the boys lifted heavy and took a very impressive fifth place, with only 3 lifters competing at this meet. All 3 lifters received medals for their performance, including senior and team captain Brodie Chase taking 1st place in the 207 weight class, senior Michael Oaks taking 1st place in the 242 weight class, and junior Ethan Katerberg taking 2nd place in the 181 weight class. Both Brodie and Michael qualified for the Varsity state meet, which is March 7th at Lake Orion High School. Our next meet will feature even more of our lifters, and will take place February 21st at Mona Shores High School.
