The girls varsity bowling team went into Station 300 for the OK Red Post Conference tournament needing a win to earn a share of the conference title this season. They started out well shooting 197 in the first baker game but struggled in game two and gave back the advantage they had after game one. They continued to fight hard in the next two games and ended up in third going into the team games. In the first team game, the ladies took back the top spot shooting a nice 894 game but Grandville came back hard in game two shooting 985 to take a 54 pin lead going into the last game. Game three showed promise as the Lady Rams came out firing strikes but a few untimely splits slowed down the momentum and in the end they fell short by 41 pins of the goal. Three of the team members were honored with All Tournament honors for both the pre conference and post conference events. Sofia DeLuccia claimed the top spot in both events while Kyla Chapman had a third place in the pre conference and a tenth in the post conference and her sister Kristen Chapman claimed a tenth in the pre conference and a third place in the post conference. All three ladies also earned All Conference honors with DeLuccia taking first, Kyla Chapman taking third and Kristen Chapman taking fifth place honors. Congratulations to all the team members for their grit and determination all season long. Now it is on to the regional competition next week at Sherman Bowling Center in Muskegon for their shot at going to the state finals in Allen Park.
