Junior Sofia DeLuccia had her opportunity to make it back to the MHSAA State Singles finals to try and improve on her runner up position from last year. DeLuccia started well shooting a 235 in game one but struggled a bit in games two and three. Going into game four, DeLuccia was in the top seven to qualify for states but she wanted more. She trailed the leader Alayna Thompson from Grand Haven by 115 pins but was determined to do all she could to get that top spot. DeLuccia started her charge and with games of 223, 216 and 221, she was able to overtake Thompson and claim the number one spot for the regional by 19 pins, shooting a fantastic 1254 series for her six games. Alyx Niedermayer had a strong performance placing 10th in the field of 46 ladies and Kyla Chapman finished in 14th place. Now it is on to the state finals at Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park, Michigan on March 1st & 2nd,
