ROCKFORD ATHLETICS I HOME OF THE RAMS

The Rams picked up a big win tonight over Northview 19-8. The Rams came ready to play and opened a 10-2 lead after just one quarter of play. Despite the fact it was only our first game of the season, the team well very well together and displayed some really good teamwork both offensively and defensively. 8 Players recorded at least one point during the game. Ava Wekenman led all scorers with 5 goals and an assist, Avery Maag had 4 goals, Ella Larva and Jordyn Coretti each had a hat trick, Kiah Kruisenga had 2 goals and an assist, Ella Wagenmaker contributed a goal, and 2 assists and Brooke Gordon had an assist and played a tremendous game. The defense was really solid, led by our Goalie Mia Mabry who not only made some key saves but was especially good at winning and contesting several ground balls. Lyla Vogt, Payten Davis, Kyla Moore, Isabella Herrema, Maddie Unger and Maddie Paul had really good games on the defensive end. The season doesn't get any easier as we face two very good teams this upcoming week in Grand Rapids Catholic Central and East Grand Rapids.
