Girls Lacrosse comes away with a big First Round Regional win over Northview 15-4

The Rams came out quick opening up a 4-1 lead in the First Quarter. Northview was not going to go away quietly and scored two goals to start the second quarter to close the gap to 4-3 Rockford. The Rams were not deterred and finished the quarter with 3 more goals to lead 7-3 at halftime. It was all Rams the rest of the way as the Rams would win the third quarter 6-0 to extend the lead to 13-3 heading into the 4th quarter. The Rams maintained the running clock and went on to win by the final 15-4. Sophomore Ava Wekenman had her best game of the year finishing the game with 5 goals and 4 assists. Seniors Ella Wagenmaker and Ella Larva both had hat tricks and very strong games. Sophomore Avery Maag was amazing on the draw, outdrawing her opponent for the 7th straight game. She also added two goals. Brooke Gordon and Kiah Kruisenga each had a goal and had strong games at the midfield. Gordon also had 4 assists to add to her goal. Jordyn Coretti added an assist. Mia Mabry had a tremendous game with 7 saves and a few of these were spectacular saves. The defense continues to be very strong holding Northview to only 4 goals led by Lyla Vogt who really shut down Northview's best scoring threat. The Rams advance and await the winner of Forest Hills NE and West Ottawa.
