Varsity Field Hockey drops their season opener to Detroit Country Day 4-0. DCD is one of the premier teams in the state and the Rams battled throughout the game. The Rams gave up two penalty corners in the first quarter despite playing some very good defense. The defense continued to play well, and the Rams still only trailed 2-0 at half. The Rams started with the ball in the second half and looked like they would get on the board with some nice crossing passes but they couldn't quite get it into the net. DCD then scored two more unanswered goals to extend the lead to 4-0. The Rams probably played their best quarter and had several scoring chances but were unable to break the shutout. The Rams return to action Thursday as they take on Hudsonville at 6:30 PM for their season opener!
